16th Annual Awesome Author Contest
Awesome Author Creative Writing Contest
The Ohio County Public Library Children's Department would like to invite YOU to participate in the Annual Awesome Creative Writing Contest!
This contest is open to 3rd and 4th grade students living in or attending school in Ohio County, West Virginia.
Entries should adhere to the following:
- Fictional story (no non-fiction reports please)
- 250-500 words
- Story should be handwritten in pencil or ink (blue or black) or typed in 12 pt Times New Roman to make reading and printing easier.
- No illustrations.
- All entries must have a cover page providing the student's first and last name, grade level, school, teacher's name, and word count.
Entries must be received by Friday, January 10th, 2026. Finalists will be notified the week of February 3, 2025. An awards ceremony will be held at 7pm on Wednesday, February 19th in the auditorium of the Ohio County Public Library.
