Lower Water Helps Wheeling

WHEELING, W. Va.—With the river having fallen the local contractors are anticipating a letup in the gravel and sand shortage which has been experienced here for several months. Owing to the unusual high stage in the river all spring, there has been but little sand and gravel
taken from its beds and a natural shortage, seriously retarding all kinds of concrete
work, has been prevalent all over the local district.

With many of the sand and gravel dredges in operation again, it will only be a matter of a few days until a good supply will be available.
