Great American Read Revel Party Thursday, October 25 at 7 pm

The Ohio County Public Library will be holding a reveal party for The Great American Read, The Great West Virginia Read, and the Great Wheeling Read in the Library Auditorium, Thursday, October 25th at 7:00 pm. Short readings from the winning books will be shared, guest speaker —beloved former Senior English teacher at Central Catholic High School, Lou Volpe—will talk about his favorite book on the list, and the winning novels will be revealed in cake.

Great American Read Reveal Party

Come celebrate great novels and find out how West Virginia and Wheeling’s favorite novels compare—and taste—to the national winner! Since August, the Ohio County Public Library has been participating in The Great American Read, a PBS program that aims to find the country’s favorite novel. Earlier this year, PBS conducted an initial survey of over 7,000 people which resulted in a list of 100 of the country’s most beloved novels. Through your votes, the winning book—the Great American Read—will be selected from this list of 100. In addition to PBS’s Great American Read, West Virginia Public Broadcasting and the Ohio County Public library are conducting The Great West Virginia Read and The Great Wheeling Read, respectively. Vote for all three, but get your votes in by Tuesday, October 23rd at 2:00pm because voting ends at 2:01 pm!

The reveal party for The Great West Virginia Read and The Great Wheeling Read will be held at the Ohio County Public Library on Thursday, October 25th at 7pm. The national winner will be revealed on PBS on Tuesday, October 23rd at 8:00 pm. Join the Ohio County Public Library in celebrating all three winning novels, Thursday, October 25th at 7:00 pm.
