As part of the Wheeling 250 celebration, Travis Henline will discuss the upper Ohio Valley’s 16,000 years of indigenous history. This presentation will cover the ancient sites, artifacts and life ways of Wheeling’s first peoples. It will also touch on the experiences of Native peoples during the contact period of the 17th and 18th century.
Travis Henline received his MA in history from WVU. He has spent a career in public history working for the National Park Service, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and the WV Division of Culture and History.
