Lunch With Books: The G.A.R. in Wheeling

Jon Erik-Gilot and Seán Duffy will discuss the origins of the Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.), the fraternal organization of Civil War Union veterans, and its history in the city of Wheeling. There were as many as three posts in town, including the Thoburn and later the Holliday Post. The program will include a look at Oglebay Institute's Holliday Post collection.
