Driving the Electric Vehicle Future: Design, Infrastructure, Sustainability, and Advanced Manufacturing in the Ohio Valley
Abstract- with growing concern within the scientific community towards the effects of climate change from CO2 and the instability of petroleum fuel markets, electric vehicles (EVs) have emerged as a potential solution for ground-based transportation. These concerns have rapidly changed the focus of the automotive industry as we advance towards more sustainable solutions. The development of electric vehicles brings radical changes in advanced training and manufacturing, supporting charging infrastructure, buying options for the consumer, and material resource procurement through mining and recycling for battery development.
During this informative discussion, the audience will have the opportunity to learn about basic EV chassis-drivetrain design and layout, existing and future charging options, sustainable resource use concerning environmental justice, hands-on EVSE (Electric Vehicle Service Equipment) demonstrations with the presenter’s EV, Ohio Valley advanced training and manufacturing for EVs, and federal-state infrastructure criteria.
