Graphic Novel Discussion Group: MAUS

The Ohio County Public Library will host a new graphic novel discussion group beginning on September 1 at 4 P.M. The topic of the first group discussions will be MAUS by Art Spiegelman  It will be lead by Reference Assistant Nayt Knapp. All those who have received a free copy of MAUS, those who love the classic Spiegelman work, and those who love graphic novels and comics are welcome to join reference assistant Nayt Knapp! A discussion of Maus on October 6. Participants will be encouraged to attend the September 20th Lunch with Books Maus Panel Discussion. A discussion of Maus on October 6th. The graphic novel group will continue in October and beyond with a new book and discussion each month thereafter.

The first meeting will:

• Provide an introduction to the book
• Give a structure of the book
• Ideas/comments for the group
• Discussion of the book after MAUS

This graphic novel discussion group is programmed for high school age students and up. However, younger teens are welcome with adult supervision.

Get a Free Copy of Maus

Those interested in the panel discussion on September 20 or the book discussion group on September 1 should contact the Library by email ([email protected]) or phone (304-232-0244) to register. The first 50 people to do so who have Library cards (it's easy to get one) will receive copies of the combined Maus and Maus II hardcover. Attend the September 20 panel and keep the book for free with the Ohio County Public Library's compliments.
