Jumpstart's Read for the Record is a national campaign to bring young children together with valued grownups in their lives to read the same book, on the same day, in communities all over the world. Celebrate literacy and support Jumpstart in its efforts to promote early childhood education!
To celebrate, we will read Thank You, Omu, make thank you cards, and have a bowl of beef stew-just like the story!
About Read for the Record:
Each year, Jumpstart, a national early education organization that works toward the the goal of making every child in America prepared to succeed when entering kindergarten, selects a campaign book that fosters language and social-emotional development, honors the diversity in our world, has a strong narrative, and appeals to young children. That book is read across the country and around the world by adults and young readers on Read for the Record day. This year, Jumpstart is celebrating its 14th anniversary of Read for the Record with the book Thank You, Omu! by Oge Mora.
