About this collection:
➤ Wilbur W. Morgan, who went by the nickname “Red,” was born on May 27, 1910. At the time of the 1936 flood in Wheeling, Morgan was a fireman for the Wheeling Fire Department. He was married to Ella Cline Morgan and had three daughters, Sylvia, Joan and Janice, and one son, Kenneth. Morgan later moved to Smithfield, Ohio and died there on September 5, 1979. The collection consists of 25 reproduction photographs of the 1936 flood in Wheeling, WV. A later addition to the collection consists of 46 original photographs of various floods, storms and accidents throughout the Wheeling area from 1930-1945.
