About this collection:

➤ David E. Kahn (1905-1977) worked for Star Clothing Store in Charleston, W.V. in the 1950s. He was transferred to Wheeling in the late 1950s to help convert the Stifel-Taylor Corporation into Stifel & Taylor Value City. This collection, donated by Kahn's son, consists of photographs of the interior and exterior of the department store on 1152-1160 Main Street. Some 19th century photos of the Geo. E. Stifel Store are included, however the bulk of photographs are from 1920s and 1930s Stifel & Co. Store and 1960s grand opening of the Stifel & Taylor Value City Store.
